Zakka (雑貨) is everything and anything that improves your home, life and appearance. Items are usually attractive and eye-catching in nature. Uguisu is a great place to start exploring and getting the feel of the art of zakka. A variety of items are available in the mid-to-high price range, so choose wisely. For people who are into crafts, a nice point the store has is a wide collection of interesting and beautiful washi tapes. Online shopping can be done at their website as well, if you aren’t in Japan to visit their store.

Uguisu: The Little Shoppe
A small corner of zakka-styled goods

Step into the small wonderland of zakka!

The first house you see first upon nearing the shop. Pretty blue framed windows!

The shop is actually further in, so don't stop at the first door like me.

The doorway to the wonderful world of zakka!

The style here has a very retro French feel, with a flair of the Japanese craft touch.

Furoshiki cloth with a modern twist on the prints.

The rest of the interior of the shop. The shop owner was pretty firm about not taking any close up shots of the products, so there will only be overview pictures of the shop interior.

Beautiful items that are both decorative and functional in your home. Displayed in the cabinet are aromatic candles.

Postcards and cards to gift others and show off your personal style. Great stuff to give friends who are into collecting postcards.

There is not much order as to how the items are being displayed. Explore!

Beautiful washi tapes sold in sets and singles. These tapes are made from Japanese craft paper and its strong natural fibres. They come in varying sizes and lovely prints for everyday and decorative uses.

I came from Roppongi station, and a good landmark to note as you walk is Tokyo Tower. It should be right in front of you.

The road leading in to the shop. I recommend printing or downloading the map from their website and bringing it along with you, or you will end up horribly lost.
