The Kawamata River Valley has several waterfalls, but Doryu Falls are considered the most beautiful. Multiple strands of water fall over mossy rocks and other lush greenery in an area about 15 meters wide and 10 meters high, creating a naturally beautiful scene that reminds one of an old Japanese painting or garden. Most likely it is the other way around, and the natural waterfall inspired the painters and garden makers! The name, Doryutaki, means "Waterfall breathed out by a dragon". The walking trail to the falls passes through forest, under a tall rail bridge, and over a narrow foot bridge, and is a fairly easy walk.

The name, Doryu, means "breathed out by a dragon"
Large mossy rocks are scattered among the trees beside the trail to the waterfalls
Tall pylons of a rail bridge across the stream tower over sightseers walking the trail
Looking up through the leaves at the rail bridge
A bridge spans the Kawamata river
Dense trees filter the summer sun, and the trail along the river bed is cool
The waterfalls are a pretty sight
Thick cushions of moss thrive on the rocks
There is lush green growth around the waterfalls
Multiple threads flow down the hillside into the river
How about a summer picnic here?
