Tokyo's Happo-en Garden is one place where you can escape the hustle and bustle of city life, and it's a particularly gorgeous destination during the spring months. Around 80 sakura trees color the grounds in delicate pink, and a festival is held at the garden while the blooms are at their best.
The Tokyo Sakura Garden Spring Festival includes evening illuminations of the blossoms from sunset until 9pm daily, cherry blossom themed food available for purchase on weekends, and a traditional koto performance on the opening night of the event.
There is no admission fee to enter the gardens and enjoy the illuminations, but bring some yen if you're visiting on a weekend and want to purchase food or drink.
