Get into the Oktoberfest spirit in Tokyo

Venue
Shiba Park
When
May 16th - Sep 23rd 2025

Oktoberfest is the world's largest beer event, and it's held every year in Munich, Germany from mid-September to early October. Japan also has a number of Oktoberfests, and one for Tokyoites to enjoy is the Spring and Autumn events in Shiba Park.

  • Spring edition: May 16 - 25

  • Autumn edition: September 12 - 23

The fun takes place for almost two weeks at Shiba Park, and includes a large selection of German draft beers to try, plenty of gourmet foods that pair well with the brews on offer, various stage performances, and more.

Adult admission to the event is ¥500 and food/drink is charged separately, but credit cards and electronic money cards (e.g. PASMO and Suica) can be used. Please also note the hours of the event differ from weekdays to weekends. On the first day of the event and all weekdays, the hours are 3pm—10:00pm and on weekends the hours are from 11am—22:00pm (last orders at 9:30pm).

Getting there

Shiba Park is located just a 1-minute walk from Exit A6 of Onarimon Station on the Toei Mita Line, and a 5-minute walk from Exit 3 of Kamiyacho Station on the Tokyo Metro Hibiya Line.

For those visiting by car, nearby parking options such as the Times Shiba Park lot are available and typically charge around ¥300 per 30-minute increment, though rates may vary by lot.

Hibiya Park is one of the most cosmopolitan public spaces in Tokyo. Plenty of cultural events take place here, along with Yoyogi Park. Always good to see.

Some years ago, my friends from all over the Kanto region gathered at this Oktoberfest. It's well worth the entrance fee. The variety and quality of the beers is stunning.

Yes, I think they have something like 80 varieties on offer! A pretty impressive lineup!
