Pokémon versus craft—what kind of battle do you think there would be?
The Azabudai Hills Gallery is holding an upgraded Pokémon craft exhibition from November 1, 2024 to February 2, 2025. The exhibition features a collaborative cafe where exclusive talk events and workshops will be held. There will be twenty artists and about eighty craftworks inspired by iconic Pokémon. The works are organized into three categories—appearance, story, and way of life.
1. Appearance
After extensive research, these artists bring Pokémon to life through the use of metal, clay, and wood. The artists are attentive to the Pokémon’s skin, fur, behaviors, and expressions. Each work is a beautiful moment captured.
2. Story
There is a well-spent journey we have with Pokémon–raising, evolving, and trading them. We form deep relationships as we carefully try to protect them. The artists imagine this connection, crafting the story of all the ways in which we bond.
3. Way of Life
Crafts can enhance our lives and provide good energy. Pokémon come alive in the essence of tableware, kimonos, and accessories.
