Food in and around Hamamatsucho

Discover dining options in the area

Find yourself feeling hungry in Hamamatsucho? Don’t worry; there are plenty of places to eat. Just a short walk from the station, you can find many authentic Japanese restaurants, as well as Western and Chinese fare.

Hamamatsucho is full of high-rise office buildings, so it is no surprise that there are numerous affordable casual restaurants to cater to the busy office worker. On the other hand, the slightly more upmarket Western restaurants and izakaya bars allow them to unwind after work.

For casual dining options, there are numerous small ramen stalls. You will need to get a meal ticket from the vending machine. They are not typically very busy, and you will not have to queue to get a seat. Prices range from about ¥800 to just over ¥1,000 per bowl, and the big servings in general make it the ideal quick, affordable and filling lunch. In the smaller lanes, you will find sushi restaurants, and those selling soba and udon with tempura.

There are also popular local chains such as Mos Burger for fast food, Matsuya for rice bowls and Coco Ichibanya for Japanese curry. Even some of the convenience stores in the area have tables and chairs for people to sit and have a quick meal or drink.

In the smaller streets near HOTEL MYSTAYS Hamamatsucho, there are options for a more formal dining experience, at the Italian, Western and seafood restaurants nearby. Other eating places in the area are typically small open-air bars good for hanging out with friends at.

For breakfast or for a cup of coffee, you can choose from numerous cafes littered in the area. A more notable one is Le Pain Qoutidien, just next to Zojoji Temple, where you can also get fresh bread and pastries. For the anime fans, if you take a walk further down to Tokyo Tower, you will find a One Piece Café and shop called Café Mugiwara. There you can get One Piece-themed food and drinks, and get exclusive merchandise at the shop.

Long story short, you will never find yourself hungry in a place like Hamamatsucho. Every street is just filled with restaurants just waiting to serve up delicious meals.
