Cherry Blossom Season at Ninoe Sakura Park

A small but mighty family-friendly sakura spot

Bigger doesn't necessarily mean better when it comes to cherry blossom viewing spots, and the Ninoe Sakura Park in the Edogawa area of Tokyo packs a punch. The numerous cherry trees in spring decorate the park with a lovely pink hue, and it's common to see lots of families here given the park has plenty of play equipment for young children to enjoy.

Typically, the best time to plan a visit to catch the trees in bloom is from the late March to early April period. Admission to the park is free of charge.

Getting there

The Ninoe Sakura Park is located around twelve minutes on foot from Funabori Station, served by the Toei Shinjuku Line.

For those who are considering driving, do note that there is no dedicated parking lot. There is a small Times paid parking lot just across the street, which is charged at 220 yen per 40 minute increment. Public transport is definitely advisable whenever possible.
