Azabu-Juban is a charming eclectic neighborhood with an international feel. Start by getting off of the subway at Azabu-Juban station on the Namboku or Oedo Line. The best way to explore the area is to head down the main shopping street, Azabu-Juban Dori and wander off on the side streets. The cobble stoned pedestrian friendly streets are full of international restaurants including French, Mexican, Italian, Chinese, Korean and Japanese. There is also an open area known as “Patio Juban” where people can sit and relax. Azabu-Juban is well known for longstanding family-owned snack shops, cafes, and bakeries.

On the main street in Azabu-Juban there is a soba restaurant called Sarashina Horii (更科堀井) that always has line-ups. Ever tried it? I always wonder if it would be worth the wait...

I especially like the photo with the red sculpted baker with the Italian flag as its background.
