I’ve only ever really been exposed to the heavily crowded metropolitan areas of Japan excluding my short time in Nara. I watch a lot of classic Japanese cinema and through this I’ve had a small glimpse of rural life that I’ve wanted to experience first hand. While staying at Daisenya in Kannami my chance finally came. Near by the hotel is a small river that runs through the town and on either side lies acres of rice fields. Just walking the small roads watching people work and feeling minuscule as mountains towered around me on all sides was such a simple pleasure but something that was really enjoyable.
