Step into the Wizarding World with the Studio Tour’s mesmerizing sets. The available sets include, but are not limited to, the Great Hall inspired by Oxford University's 16th century hall, Platform 9 ¾ and the Hogwarts Express, the notorious Forbidden Forest, and Diagon Alley. Exclusive to Tokyo, the Studio Tour also has the first recreation of the London Ministry of Magic set, where fans can pose for photos beside one of the fireplaces with smoke and lightning effects.
The Studio Tour is home to numerous props that feature unparalleled craftsmanship. Guests can peruse a variety of wands, including Professor Snape's and Professor Slughorn's, as well as observe the famous Goblet of Fire and Dumbledore’s office with his memory cabinet.
Life-sized versions of the creatures from the film series can also be found at the Studio Tour. Guests can see the beloved Dobby, Buckbeak the Hippogriff with each of his feathers being individually created and hand-glued, the Goblins from the Gringotts Wizarding Bank, and Aragog the Acromantula with a leg span of over 5.5 meters.
Guests can enjoy numerous displays that explain some of the movies' most notable effects, including flying with broomsticks, the famous Knight Bus from Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, and the Pensieve in Dumbeldore's office, which he used to view memories. In fact, with the help of a greenscreen, visitors themselves can even try flying on a broomstick.
Fans can see some of the movies’ most famous costumes, which were curated by the best costume designers. The facility is home to a variety of Hogwarts school robes; Dumbledore’s outfits, which evolve throughout the movies in tandem with the plot; beautiful formalwear from the Yule Ball; Beaxbatons’ school uniforms; and much more!
The Studio Tour has the recreation of the Hogwarts Castle model built originally by the Art Department for Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. The model has more than 2,500 fibre optic lights and was created by a team of 86 members. Fans can also see models of the masks worn by Death Eaters and play with an interactive digital mask-creator to find a mask that matches their own personality.
Enjoy a variety of specially-curated, British-inspired restaurants at the Studio Tour, including The Food Hall and the Frog Cafe, which has a selection of Harry Potter themed sweets and special designs in its Caffe Latte Art Collection. Both areas are available before or after your Studio Tour experience. Located halfway through the Studio Tour is the Backlot Cafe, where visitors can stop for some magic-themed drinks that change color and taste or eat a meal in one of the Hogwarts houses. Of course, the Studio Tour also has Butterbeer available at the world's biggest Butterbeer bar. Visitors can also purchase an experience of Afternoon Tea on the day of the Studio Tour visit, but this option is currently unavailable. Check their website for updates on availability and time slots.
The Studio Tour is located on the former Toshimaen Amusement Park site, which is a two-minute walk from Toshimaen Station on the Toei Oedo Line and the Seibu Ikebukuro Line.
