Located in Minato City, Tokyo and opened on November 24, 2023, Azabudai Hills is an impressive multi-complex facility home to green spaces, educational facilities, art galleries, shops, eateries, residences, offices, and more. The 8.1-hectare area stands as an example of future modernity where innovation, wellness, and the environment flourish alongside one another.
Azabudai Hills’ overarching concept is a “Modern Urban Village” where people can enjoy healthy and fulfilling lives in harmony with nature. In addition to its 24,000 square meters of greenery, the complex also features refined shopping experiences, nourishing food, wellness facilities, and artistic and cultural enrichment. In fact, the widely popular museum, teamLab Borderless, will reopen in Azabudai Hills in early February 2024 with dazzling new exhibits.
With its breadth of offerings, Azabudai Hills makes for a fascinating destination where you can enjoy elevated Tokyo life amid nature-adorned landscapes of the future.
Azabudai Hills’ connecting outdoor areas are abundant in nature—boasting approximately 320 plant species—and provide engaging spaces where visitors can enjoy scenic walking paths and lush places for relaxation. The complex’s 6,000-square meter Central Green area incorporates beautifully landscaped grounds, water features, public art, and food stalls to create a diverse environment where everyone can spend leisure moments in nature and appreciate the passing seasons.
Azabudai Hills’ founders believe that art and culture are vital components of urban development and a higher quality of life for city dwellers. In keeping with this sentiment, Azabudai Hills houses the Azabudai Hills Gallery, teamLab Borderless museum (opening Feb 2024), additional art venues and galleries, and numerous public art installations.
Food is a core element of wellness. Thus, Azabudai Hills is home to numerous eateries that span a variety of cultures. Visitors can enjoy Japanese cuisine, such as premium beef, sushi, tempura, and kaiseki (traditional multi-course meals), plant-based French dishes, Spanish food, Thai dishes, Italian cuisine, cafe eats, bakeries, and so much more. In Spring 2024, the complex will also open the Azabudai Hills Market, which aims to promote Japanese food culture, create a world-class market experience, and enrich visitors’ lives through food.
Azabudai Hills has retail establishments and pop-up stores that everyone can enjoy. Spend the afternoon perusing, fashion, sports-related goods, lifestyle products, books, jewelry, perfume, and more. The area will also be home to luxury brands such as Cartier, CELINE, DIOR, and many others (opening in February 2024).
