The main hall might not look so special, but the further you wander inside the grounds the more impressive it becomes

Starting with the two-storey pagoda from 1863

Rocks and giant cedar trees covered with moss, fern and small waterfalls dominate the surroundings

You can get as close as this, and just sit there...

The lush green is so refreshing, especially if you have just come from the big city

I think I just sat right here at this spot for an hour, just soaking up the peaceful atmosphere, thinking about nothing

I don't know what to say but these temple grounds have left me speechless.

Hidden in a wonderful lush forest with giant cedar trees, not so many people know about it—not even Japanese.

I found it so peaceful and inspiring that I actually didn't want to leave any more. But well... have a look yourself— there's lots of interesting history to this place, too.
