The Kobe Baptist Church in the silent neighborhood of Kitano was built in the post-war 1950's. Located at a walking distance of 15 minutes from JR Sannomiya Station, it is open to people of all religions and faiths. Sunday prayers start at 10:30 and the church also runs the elementary school Hikari No Oka in the vicinity. Special Christmas events are also held, and the street has been newly decked with beautiful retro style sodium lamps giving the street a kind of European feel.
