Freundlieb Cafe and Bakery is a wonderful stop in the Kitano area to enjoy a meal in Kobe. In line with the surrounding European influenced architecture, this German bakery is housed in the former Kobe Union Church. There is a set menu which may include fried shrimp, potato salad and various home-made breads. Desserts, cakes and coffee are also available. A bakery downstairs sells home-made bread and other fresh pastries. The cafe is open from 10 in the morning to 6:30 in the evening and closed Wednesdays.
