Last weekend I heard the news that the weeping cherry trees at Sakaeno Yashiro Shrine in Fukui City were now in full bloom. I didn't believe it because we actually had SNOW last week, and even though the temperature was getting higher, other cherry trees in the city had only just started to bloom. However, if it was true, I didn't want to miss it, so I went there early this week to check it out. Sure enough they were fully blooming! In gorgeous deep pink they were celebrating a sunny spring day under the clear blue sky. Spring has finally come to Fukui!
