There is a small waterfall called 'Ichijo-daki' deep in the woods, about 3 km from the famous tourist spot, Ichijodani Asakura Ruins in Fukui. This waterfall is also known as 'Kojiro Falls' after prominent swordsman Sasaki Kojiro, who dueled with Miyamoto Musashi on Ganryu-jima (Ganryu Island) in the early 17th century. He developed his 'Swallow Counter', a deadly swordplay technique, in this place. The 2003 NHK period drama 'Musashi', and a Softbank commercial were shot here too. When my drone and I visited this waterfall in autumn, there was bush around the top of the waterfall and my drone couldn't fly high, so instead he flew low, almost touching the water surface.
