Lake Saiko is the smallest of the Fuji Five Lakes. Located a short distance from Lake Kawaguchi, it is surrounded by forested hills. When the sky is clear there is a great view of Mount Fuji from Saiko, but the mountain was obscured by summer haze. However, even without Fuji views there are good reasons to go there. In the summer it is a great place to swim, fish, or go boating. There is also a camping ground on the lake shore, but I didn't stay there so I can't tell you about it.
