For a delicious and reasonable meal in Shingu City, Wakayama Prefecture, look no further than the restaurant Tensui. The restaurant has been open for about 30 years and is housed in a Showa Era building. Located in a quiet neighborhood, it is only a five minute walk from the station and some of the area's top sightseeing spots. The menu is made up of a mix of both Japanese and Western items, with a focus on using seasonal local ingredients. Lunch choices are mostly Japanese and include soba or udon noodles, a choice of donburi (bowl dishes), and many different teishoku (standard set meals). They range in price from ¥500 to ¥1600 yen. The dinner menu has something for everyone, from sashimi to simple pasta dishes. Their specialties are tempura and locally-caught tuna that has not yet been frozen. Unfortunately, the menu is only in Japanese, but they will try their best to help you.
