The biting cold in Takaoka City didn’t stop scores of people from turning out to the Takaoka Nabe Festival. The two day festival is usually held in January and features a number of booths which sell delicious nabe cooked in aluminum and bronze pots. The Nabe Festival is the premier winter event in Takaoka. You can enjoy nabe loaded with fresh seafood and vegetables and even eat local specialties such as crab nabe, cod soup, fish stew, Brazilian nabe and Takaoka Borsch. Takaoka’s Nabe Festival is a great event to check out if you’re in the area. You won’t be disappointed.
