Kameido Tenjin Shrine is one of the few places in Tokyo—and the most popular one—, where you can see great wisteria from late April until the beginning of May. The shrine holds a festival at that time, with a selection of food stalls and illumination at night, from sunset through to midnight. As it's a relatively small place, it does get extremely busy on weekends; definitely try to go there during the week. I don't remember having seen wisteria like this before—very beautiful.

Wisteria Festival, Kameido Tenjin
Bees, bees, bees, buzzing 'round the trees

Wisteria in full bloom at Kameido Tenjin Shrine

A really pretty garden covered by wisteria; some azalea complete the picture

Wisteria close-up

Having the Skytree quite close gives you the feeling to stand right between the traditional and modern Tokyo

Skytree seen through a wisteria curtain

The flowers are very long and swing nicely with the wind

Yes, there are quite some bees around, watch out for them

The view from one of the bridges that cross the pond

I really liked the gnarled trunk and branches of the trees

With a little bit of sunshine it's even more beautiful

Last but not least a shot of the shrine itself

Darn! Sad I missed it!
Next time Victoria!
Thanks Manish. I recommend to go as soon as you can. Due to the heavy rain on Wednesday, one part in the garden has already past its peak. Anyway, other parts were still gorgeous. The illumination must be great too. Sounds like something for you :-)
