The Tokyo Indie Games Summit was launched in 2023 in Tokyo's Kichijoji area, and has quickly become a vibrant hub for indie game creators and fans alike. Aimed at fostering collaboration and providing a space where indie games can shine, the event brings together game developers, players, and the local community for an immersive experience.

In its inaugural year, the Summit offered creators the opportunity to showcase their work, interact with users, and gain valuable feedback. For visitors, it was a chance to discover innovative games and connect with the minds behind them. This blend of creativity and community has resonated with attendees, with over 9,000 visitors joining the second event in 2024, spanning all ages, genders, and nationalities.

The upcoming third edition of the Tokyo Indie Games Summit promises to be even bigger and better. The venue is set to be expanded, primarily to improve the user experience based on feedback from past years. A key highlight will be a strengthened business matching system, providing better opportunities for creators to connect with potential partners. As always, the event will span two days: a business-focused day for industry professionals and a public day for fans and enthusiasts.

The Summit is also deepening its collaboration with the city of Kichijoji, weaving the spirit of indie gaming with local cultural icons like music and anime. This growing synergy aims to create a unique "local x global" event that resonates worldwide.

Getting there

The Tokyo Indie Games Summit takes place at several venues. The two main venues are the Musashino Public Hall and Kichijoji Tokyu REI Hotel, with sub-venues including Kichijoji Marui, Harmonica Alley, and more.

Both of the main venues are located just two minutes on foot from Kichijoji Station, which is served by the Chuo Line, the Chuo-Sobu Line, and the Keio Inokashira Line.
