There's something special about the glow of lantern festivals, and Japan is home to several of them throughout the year. The Tama Lantern Festival has been running for 5 years now, and it brings around 200 colorful Vietnamese-style lanterns to the Tama Hakkaku-do community center and surrounds.
Along with the beautiful lanterns to appreciate, the event will also include some nostalgic family-friendly games like ring toss, tuk tuk rides (a fee applies), and food booths selling a variety of goodies.
Admission to the event itself is free of charge, but do bring yen if you want to take part in some of the additional activities or purchase food and drinks.
