If you're in east Tokyo to see Kiyosumi Tei-en garden or the Museum of Contemporary Art, then between them you'll find Fukagawa Shiryokan-dori. It's seen better times, but on the main drag and the side streets around it you'll find a diversity of stores: florists, clothing stores and stationers, traditional snack, tofu and cake shops, relaxed cafes and Chinese and Indian restaurants, and plenty more. There's also a surprising number of temples and shrines clustered around the area, which are interesting to look around or to sit at for a rest stop.
