The Edo-Tokyo Open Air Architectural Museum is a captivating outdoor venue which showcases preserved and relocated buildings from the Edo to early Showa periods. A special event at the museum in early August allows patrons to explore the grounds after dark, providing a truly unique experience.
Shitamachi Evening Cool has been running for almost 20 years now, and the museum's Shitamachi Nakadori street is set to be illuminated with lanterns and lights from the buildings. There will also be other fun activities including a children's mikoshi (portable shrine) parade, carnival style games, and mist areas set up for some additional cooling properties!
The evening event runs from 4pm until 8.30pm (last admissions at 8pm), but the museum opens daily from 9.30am.
