You'll have to navigate the back roads of Shibuya to find the Shibuya Hikawa Shrine, but this is a beautiful place with a lot of history that will make your efforts worth it. With origins dating back to about the year 1600, the main shrine buildings are set up high on a hill and hidden in a small but dense forest of trees and bamboo. The stairs leading down bring you to a large, beautiful sumo ring. This was one of three principal sumo rings in the Tokyo area back in the Edo Period.
