PokéPark KANTO Opening Sooner Than Expected

Pokémon fans have reason to celebrate, as the highly anticipated PokéPark KANTO will be opening its gates earlier than originally planned. Initially expected to debut in spring 2026, the park's official opening date has now been set for Thursday, February 5th, 2026.

Located within Tokyo's Yomiuriland amusement park in the lush Tama Hills area, PokéPark KANTO will cover an expansive 26,000 square meters, making it the first permanent outdoor Pokémon attraction in the world. The park will feature several themed zones, including Pokémon Forest, Trainers' Market, the Gym, and Battle Court, each offering different ways for visitors to experience the world of Pokémon in real life.

Ticketing Information

Ticket sales will begin at 6pm on Friday, November 21st, 2025, via the official PokéPark KANTO website. The first round of tickets will be valid from February 5th to March 31st, 2026, and will be offered through a lottery system. Prices start at 7,900 JPY for the Trainer's Pass and 14,000 JPY for the Elite Trainer's Pass, both of which include admission to Yomiuriland.

A sneak peek of what to expect

The Pokémon Company has released a teaser trailer offering an early look at what's to come, showcasing outdoor adventure spaces, interactive exhibits, and nods to the Kanto region that started it all. With its combination of natural surroundings and imaginative design, the park aims to create an immersive environment that appeals to both long-time fans and younger visitors discovering Pokémon for the first time.

With the opening date moving forward, excitement is already building for what promises to be one of Tokyo's most talked-about attractions in 2026. PokéPark KANTO looks set to become a new landmark for visitors eager to step into the Pokémon universe in a completely new way.

Getting there

Yomiuriland can be accessed in just 25 minutes from the Shinjuku area of Tokyo, or around 35 minutes from Shibuya – head to Keio Yomiuriland Station.

For those who opt to drive, the venue is around 2 kilometers from the Chuo Expressway's Fuchu Smart Interchange.
