A birthday well spent in Tokyo! I was far away from my home and travelling on my own, but it was a really happy and unforgettable day! Although it was the middle of September, the day was very sunny and hot. In the morning I went to Harajuku and headed to Meiji Jingu. I entered the shrine with traditional water purification ceremony that I’d learnt to do before. It gave the feeling of entering a special place, indeed. I left my wish there, of course. Meiji Jingu was surrounded by big forest-like Yoyogi Park with huge trees that gave good shadows. There were few groups of friends and families having picnics. I sat down right on grass and enjoyed the warm day watching orange butterflies. Closer to lunchtime I went to another place in Harajuku to watch the International Festival. There were street performances and food stalls from different countries. I tried some and they were delicious. After the festival, I went to Ikebukuro Sunshine City where I bought combined ticket to the Aquarium and Observatory on the 60th floor. I think it was my best birthday ever!
