Ome Municipal Museum of Art
With over 2,000 modern illustrations, ukiyo-e woodblock prints and oil paintings, the Ome Municipal Museum of Art puts up a good display of its extensive collection. Regular exhibitions keep the gallery busy while the view from the second floor terrace and cafe adds some obvious bonus points.

Ome Municipal Museum of Provincial History
Plenty of historical artefacts tracing the history of the area feature at the Ome Municipal Museum of Provincial History. The museum's online database gives a solid overview of its collection, with items ranging from ceramic pieces and Edo period firefighting uniforms to Buddhist votive tablets and even early television and radio sets.

Showa Retro Goods Museum
The Showa Retro Goods Museum overflows with posters, signage and other paraphernalia from Japan's ever present Showa period. Lasting from 1926 to 1989, this period of modern Japanese history draws in the fans and even without Japanese language skills, it is hard to miss the nostalgic bomb this place drops on its visitors.

Yoshikawa Eiji Memorial Museum
Dedicated to the famous historical novelist Yoshikawa Eiji, the Yoshikawa Eiji Memorial Museum offers the famed novelist's post-World War II home. The museum not only features Yoshikawa's complete literary works but also his notes, story drafts and letters as well numerous exhibitions related to his life.
