The cherry blossoms season has almost finished here in Tokyo. However, it is still not too late to enjoy the blossoms at Meguro river. I especially recommend the Nakameguro area (sometimes also written Naka-Meguro): Lots of food stalls, champagne with strawberries, funky fashion stores, bonsai shops and of course breathtakingly beautiful cherry blossoms along the river. It might be crowded, but it is definitely worth it.

Nakameguro Cherry Blossoms
My number one hanami spot in Tokyo

Community writer

Option number one: get off at Nakameguro Station. The view from the platform promises you an amazing hanami (cherry blossom viewing) experience.

Alternatively, you could get off at Meguro Station and walk down to the river ...

... turn right at the river and enjoy the blossoms all the way to Nakameguro.

Day time view is beautiful; however, night view is much more magical in my opinion.

From here onwards please allow me to share some pictures I took at Nakameguro.

There are a few bridges and the view from every bridge is slightly different. The bridges closer to the station are rather crowded I am afraid. You might need to queue for about 2 minutes before getting to the front and taking a photo, but as I said, it is worth it.

On top of all that, Nakameguro has many interesting places along the river for you to drop by. Like this famous little book store with a collection of unique literature.
