There are a few fruit parlors in Japan which have exceptional fruit parfaits, but the strawberry parfait from Kyobashi Sembikiya is truly unforgettable. Kyobashi Sembikiya is the oldest fruit shop in Japan, established in 1834, and today is a popular destination for special occasions and everyday gatherings. It is usually known for its muskmelons and its products can be easily purchased, even at Haneda Airport, but my personal favorite is the strawberry parfait. The perfect blending of fresh strawberries and foamy cream makes the parfait distinct from any other strawberry parfait. There are also other fruit desserts that are every bit as good as the parfait so if you are looking for a fruity dessert, this place is strongly recommended! There are around 15 shops mostly in the Tokyo area, and the main shop is located in Nihonbashi Mitsui Tower, where the Mandarin Oriental Tokyo is located. I tried the one in Machida area and the photos are from this location.
