Japan Umeshu Festival in Tokyo 2025

Celebrating all things umeshu at Ueno Park

When
Late Sep 2025

Japan has a rich and diverse world of alcoholic beverages, and for those who enjoy sweet and tart flavor profiles, umeshu is a great choice. Made from steeping unripe ume fruits (also known as Japanese plums) in alcohol and sugar, the drink is delicious on its own or as an ingredient in cocktails.

If you're already a fan of umeshu—or you'd like to learn more about it—the Japan Umeshu Festival in Tokyo is an event that you shouldn't miss. It's set to include over 170 types of umeshu made by sake breweries all over Japan, and attendees can compare and contrast different samples to find their favorites. There will also be sales of full bottles for anyone who finds something they're really fond of.

Please note that the operating hours for the festival differ on each day:

  • Sept 20 (Fri) 12pm–6pm
  • Sept 21 (Sat) 11am–6pm
  • Sept 22 (Sun) 11am–6pm
  • Sept 23 (Mon/hol) 11am–4pm
