A few minutes from Yakushiike Park in Machida there is a large garden called Ebine-en. Sadly I couldn't find any information about the garden in English, but I was told that it is only open at certain times of year. Apparently the garden has large plantings of Calanthe orchids which bloom in a woodland setting in late April and early May. However, I visited the garden in late June. The woodland areas were closed, but I could still enjoy seventeen different varieties of hydrangea planted on the upper slopes of the garden.

A beautiful place for a stroll

There were many different species...

... and many different colors

I'm not sure what these neatly trimmed rows are... but they look a bit like tea bushes

Beautiful blue color!
