Heiwa No Mori Park

Adventure and sport for the whole family

Heiwa No Mori Park in Ota-ku (Ota ward) Tokyo is located about 20 minute walk from Omori station and just south of Shinagawa Aquarium. This park is large and has various cafes, water fountains, tennis courts and adventure parks.

Heiwa no Mori Koen Field Athletic Course is within the park and is very popular. The park hosts a large obstacle course, which is suitable for children ranging from 8-13; this has 40 obstacles and includes activities such as climbing walls, rope walks & floating logs. The admission into this section of the park is 100 yen for children and 360 yen for high school students and adults and is open from 9:30 until 4, but it is closed on Mondays. This area of the park seems to be quite popular and I am not surprised, it looks like a lot of fun! The large park is a great place to spend the day and is a relaxing escape from Tokyo.

The Omori Nori museum is located near the southern part of the park and is free to enter, this is open from 9am until 5pm, or 7pm in Summer time. An English leaflet was provided and there are displays on the cultivation of Nori, which is dried seaweed. On the top of the building there is an observation deck, which gives you a great view of Tokyo Bay. A bridge connects to another park which is called Omori furusato no hamabe and has quite a large beach area which is a nice place to relax and spend time with family, they also have a café here and various places to sit.

This park is very family-friendly and is a great area to spend a day. It is 15-minutes walk from Hotel Mystays Premier Omori which is a great option for a family stay as it’s not only close to central Tokyo but the breakfast provided is superb. I was very impressed with not only the size of this park but the range of activities it has to offer visitors; whether you want to relax with your family or play in the multiple parks, this park is for you.
