Hamura Zoo Welcomes New Bird

Momo the hawk joins the family at Hamura Zoo

Hamura Zoo in the western suburbs of Tokyo has welcomed a new addition to its fauna family.

A one-year-old hawk named Momo joined the zoo's small animal kingdom in December last year. It was given to the zoo by Mr Ozaku, the Chairman of the Japan Falconry Assignation.

Momo can now be seen spreading its powerful wings during its ongoing training with one of the zoo caretakers. The admission fee for the zoo is ¥300 for adults and ¥50 for elementary school children (children aged 3 and below are free of charge).

Hamura Zoo is located at 4122 Hane in Hamura City. For more information, you may also contact them at 579-4041.

I only live 5-minute walk from the zoo, but I still didn't get the chance to see him. =) Couldn't get a good timing...
