Since April 15th, everyone in Tokyo has had the opportunity to learn more about all the 47 prefectures of Japan, even about non-touristic places. The Tokyo Metropolitan Government’s Local Specialties Fair is the first souvenir event which offers items from all the country's prefectures, with specialties like rice crackers, sake and more on show, all of which represent each prefecture's famous local products and flavours.
Running until May 31st, the event will offer around 400 items and information about them in English, Chinese and Korean to visitors.
If you are visiting Japan during this time, take advantage of this event to learn more about the rest of the country. The “Local Specialties Fair” takes place in the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building in Shinjuku (Tochomae Station – Oedo Line) on the 45th floor (South Observatory) from 9:30am to 5:30pm until May 31st 2015.
