Dinosaurs are stomping their way back into the spotlight with Dino Safari 2025, an immersive show taking place in Tokyo this spring. This dynamic experience blends performance, cutting-edge robotics, and imagination to bring prehistoric creatures to life in front of a live audience.
At the heart of the show are life-sized dinosaur suits developed by ON-ART Co., Ltd., using a patented technology called “DINO-TECHNE.” These self-supporting mechanical creations have been in development for over 18 years, with meticulous attention to detail that makes each dinosaur’s movement and behavior feel eerily lifelike. Awarded for innovation by both the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and the Tokyo Venture Technology Awards, ON-ART’s creations are a perfect combination of craftsmanship and science.
Visitors can expect to encounter famous species such as Tyrannosaurus, Triceratops, Stegosaurus, and Pachycephalosaurus, roaming freely and even engaging in dramatic encounters. Past editions of the show have featured highlights like a face-off between a Tyrannosaurus and Triceratops, hinting at the kind of action fans may get to see again this year.
Dino Safari 2025 is scheduled for 35 performances over Golden Week, making it an ideal holiday outing for families, schoolchildren, and dinosaur fans of all ages. Each ticket includes a special Dinosaur Card and a DINO-A-LIVE guidebook, adding to the experience. As a final surprise, guests will pass by a “sleeping” Tyrannosaurus as they leave the venue.
With its mix of entertainment and educational value, the event is set to offer a memorable journey into the world of dinosaurs, bridging the gap between ancient history and futuristic technology in a show that is both thrilling and family-friendly.
Please note that ticket prices differ depending on the day you visit (weekdays vs. weekends). More information on ticketing, including venues you can purchase them through, can be found on the official event website.
