The Chiyoda Sakura Festival is a springtime event which takes place from late March until early April each year. Held around the extremely picturesque Chidorigafuchi moat, the event draws in around one million people annually to admire the truly incredible pastel-pink scenery.
Along with the ability to appreciate the blossoms during the daytime, the event will also see the sakura trees and the 700-meter promenade surrounding the moat illuminated after dark – it's perfect if you're looking for a place for a scenic evening stroll.
If you'd like to take to the water to enjoy the blooms, boat rides are available and are priced at 800 yen for 30 minutes, or 1,600 yen per hour. Bookings need to be made at the boat dock (details here).
