Get ready to kick off summer the right way! There’s no better place to fight the heat than the 13th WASHU FES in Nakameguro—coming July 20, 2019. This year’s theme, “Enjoy Summer Sake and Sparkling Sake,” will let you try more than 150 kinds of sake from 36 distilleries from all around Japan.
Wet your whistle with the extremely popular sparkling sake; a refreshing summer sake; or an exhilarating cold sake. At the Minus 5°C Sake Booth get chilled by the crisp taste of below-freezing flavors. At WASHU FES, you’ll get your fill of fresh sake with the all-you-can-drink time that comes with the price of the ticket. Unfiltered sake, cloudy sake, undiluted sake, and plum wine are just a few of the wonderful Japanese beverages you’ll be sampling! You’ll also find sake for sale that you can enjoy at home and even souvenir sake.
As you drink under the summer sun, try pairing your sake with regional specialties and popular restaurant snacks, available at the Food Booth (cash only). Enjoy your food and drink while you relax at the Venue Stage. Listen to a live music performance presided over by Yuki Aoi, the WASHU FES Coordinator and “Sake Samurai”. Watch the “Cool-Style Sake” seminar by entertainer Ritsuko Shimada. And don’t forget to catch a glimpse of the lovely Miss Sake Japan 2019, Sae Haruta, as she brings smiles all across the festival grounds.
What to expect

Event details (2019)
The Japanese sake festival, WASHU FES, at Nakameguro GT Tower-Mae Hiroba is a two-part event; with the first half from 13:45 to 16:00, and the second part in the evening, from 16:45 to 19:00.
Whichever time you choose will ensure you a sweet 2 hours and 15 minutes of all-you-can-drink time. The entrance fee covers your drinking time and all the sake you can handle; food and souvenirs are charged separately. Tickets may be purchased at the door, but these are limited in quantity due to a 500-person capacity. Please inquire for ticket availability by contacting the email address here.
With easy access to Nakameguro on the Tokyu Toyoko Line and the Tokyo Metro Hibiya Line, it’d be the shame of your summer season to miss the WASHU FES. The sake festivals are held three teams a year in Spring, Summer, and Autumn.
