The forest turns out wonderful reds and yellows at Ryuzu-no-taki Falls around mid-October. It is so beautiful that no one can miss taking nice photos! The cold air along the Yukawa River brings the beauty of autumn from Senjo-ga-hara marshlands to Chuzen-ji Lake. Autumn visits Ryuzu-no-taki first, and then spreads to other mountain areas in Nikko. Iroha-zaka, the road that zigzags its way up into the mountains here, is always crowded with huge numbers of early birds making their way to the falls. But these falls are worth viewing, even if you are packed into a busy, noisy bus for one hour!

Beautiful photos of an autumn gem- will have to make the journey myself someday too.
Hi Nicole! I took these pictures last weekend. As I mentioned in the article, the color changes in Nikko area has just begun from Ryuzu-no-taki. It will take about one month to spread all other parts. Thank you for seeing my photos.

Fantastic pictures Tomoko! Are the colours like this at the moment? I mean, when did you take these pictures?
