Ashikaga Flower Park in the Spring
By Elena Lisina
Not only wisteria but also winter illumination
Ashikaga Flower Park, very famous for its breathtaking wisteria in May, features gorgeous illumination in winter. The light-up of the gardens produces incredible colors and high-contrast. But the garden near the entrance has a soft and gentle-colored illumination of birds flying. They are specially prepared using the world’s first examples of organic EL technology.
There are many photo spots with fascinating scenery in the background. People make long lines here, but it’s worth the wait. If you are hungry, you can stop by some food stands or restaurants to enjoy hot drinks and light meals. The light-up hour starts at 4:30PM, between October 25 and February 5. It takes about one hour to walk around the gardens.
