"Parallel Histories: The Several Currents of Contemporary Art" is a special exhibition taking place at the Shizuoka Prefectural Museum of Art. Contemporary art consists of a wide range of methods and mediums, and this exhibition will look at some of the trends.
Some of the works on display will include Joan Mitchell's "Lake" (1955), Morris Louis's "Beth Ain" (1958), and Daisuke Ohba's "Ring" (2016). Adult admission to the event is priced at 600 yen.
The Shizuoka Prefectural Museum of Art is located around 25 minutes on foot or about 6 minutes by bus from Kusanagi Station, served by the JR Tokaido Line. To take the bus, head out of the Prefectural University Museum Exit (South Exit), and look for the Kusanagi Museum Line service.
For those who plan to drive to the museum, it's around 25 minutes from the Shizuoka IC / Shimizu IC on the Tomei Expressway, or 25 minutes from the Shin-Shizuoka IC on the Shin-Tomei Expressway. Free parking is available on-site which can accommodate around 400 vehicles.
