If you're walking down the main road to Kusanagi-jinja shrine from Kusanagi station, it's worth making a little detour to stop off at Reisenji, a small, appealing neighbourhood temple. The grounds are attractively landscaped and there are a number of interesting statues dotted around, making for a pleasant, tranquil atmosphere. Then if you climb towards the top tier of the terraced graveyard behind the main hall, you'll be rewarded with a fine view across the countryside to Mount Fuji.
