Hamamatsu Autumn Food Festival

Lots of food, lots of performances, lots of fun!

This was all in Japanese so I don't know what was going on

There were a number of cute mascots wandering around, who must have been really hot

There was a large canopy so we could have our food and drinks in some shade

After the drummers there was some live calligraphy

Hamamatsu Castle and Tokugawa Ieyasu

Cookies and sweets to buy and take home with you

On the final weekend of October every year, there's a big food festival held close to Hamamatsu Castle Park. There are stands serving hot meals and selling locally produced foods like cookies, jams and tea, and stages with a wide range of different performances. I saw live calligraphy, two troupes of taiko drummers, volleyball players, and if I'd stayed around I'd have seen a play about Tokugawa Ieyasu's daughters.
