The Marukyu Ryokan is located in the onsen town of Shuzenji, at the center of the Izu Peninsula. Guests staying overnight enjoy delicious traditional Japanese meals served by a friendly staff. The selection of items is ever-changing depending on what is fresh and in season. Meals are served in tatami rooms on regular tables with chairs. It is a lovely place to experience the culture of a Japanese ryokan.

The okami-san writes each guest a poem with their dinner.

What is it? A tasty appetizer made of mushrooms.

Everything is beautifully prepared and presented.

The tempura melted in our mouths.

Rice, miso soup, and pickles were served toward the end.

A tasty trio of mini desserts

In the morning, we took a walk along the river.

A delicious Japanese-style breakfast
