Lake Biwa in Shiga Prefecture is Japan's largest freshwater lake. Due to its proximity to the old capital, Kyoto, Lake Biwa features prominently in Japanese literature. From the castle town of Hikone, we took an early summer morning's trip to watch the sun rise over the lake. As Hikone sits on the eastern shore, the sun actually doesn't rise above the lake (one would have to go around to western Takashima to experience that). Nonetheless, the rising sun created some beautiful colors well worth exchanging some hours of sleep for. The pictures were taken in mid-July, from 4:30am-5:00am.

I've heard so many good things about Lake Biwa in Japan. Some of my friends have gone to this place already and they all said it was heavenly. They said that aside from the sunrise and sunset, you can even see the stars reflected on the water at night and it was the most beautiful thing they've ever seen. I just wish I could go here too.

The idea of witnessing both sunrise and sunset over the lake, with stars reflecting at night, is just magical. I've seen some photos online, Maybe when I get the chance and do my sportsbet.io withdrawal スポーツベットアイオー 出金 https://sportsbet.jp/withdrawal/ I bet the real experience is something else.

We are spoiled with the sunsets and sunrises in Japan. This would make the perfect spot for Hatsuhinode.
