This apple cake was divine

A crystal tree stands in the garden

The shop and cafe are housed in a graceful red brick building. You can see Omihachiman's cable car in the background.

The sparkling crystals caught my eye as I was cycling past

There are various sizes of the wonderful baumkuchen available, and they come packed in these lovely boxes.

If you drive to Omihachiman, there is a car park outside the cafe

People come to Omihachiman and queue up to buy Club Harie's wonderful baumkuchen. This cake shop chain has stores all over Japan, but I'm betting the store in Omihachiman is the only one with a tree of sparkling crystals in the garden! After visiting Himure Shrine and exploring the canal area, Club Harie's attached cafe with it's beautiful decor is the perfect place to go for perfect coffee and perfect cake.
