Hanno City, Saitama, is best known for its mountains, hiking trails, and small-town charm. Running through a corner of the city not far from Hanno Station, however, is the Iruma River (Iruma-gawa), and Hanno has created a wonderful area along the riverside. Marked by the eye-catching Wareiwa Bridge (Wareiwa-bashi), the riverside area is filled with people walking dogs, strolling with their dates, and meeting with friends. The stony banks extend to some great places to get back to nature and enjoy a very pretty setting. It's also a popular place for people to have barbecues and gather during fireworks festivals.
