Gyoda is a small, mostly unknown, city that is rich in history. Sitting in the middle of the Kanto Plain, the town is almost completely flat, making it easy to get around by rental bicycle. Visit a castle, ancient burial mounds, interesting temples & shrines, a park dedicated to lotus flowers, and more. Gyoda is a quick one and a half hour ride by car or train from Tokyo. It is best to visit when the flowers are blooming and giant rice paddy art is on display.

A museum for tabi socks, eh? I gotta admit, I'm sort of intrigued. :)
In addition to the exhibitions, visitors can watch shokunin make tabi and have their own personal tabi made from a choice of materials (reservation required).

Looks really fun! I loved the Buddha and lotus photos!
Thanks, Olga! I'm wondering what this year's rice paddy art design will be since it is different every year.
