Miraikan – The National Museum of Emerging Science & Innovation
On the artificial island of Odaiba in Tokyo Bay is Japan's National Museum of Future Research and Innovation, or Museum of the Future (Miraikan) for short To highlight future-oriented findings from various areas.
For example, you will find the data from the Japanese seismograph network displayed in real time, which gives a visual insight into Japan's earthquake activity. Other future-oriented technologies from robotics and automotive development are also shown here, as well as information and exhibits on the subject of space travel. Former Japanese astronaut Mamoru Mori is also director of the museum. In addition, there are annually changing special exhibitions on new topics.
The museum also has a restaurant, a souvenir shop and free wifi. Information and audio guides are available in English, Japanese, Korean, and Chinese. Groups of 8 people or more receive a discount, but must be registered in advance.
