Cruise Ship passengers and freight crew alike may wonder what this glass dome is, sitting by the shore of Osaka Bay. In 2000 this architectural marvel hosted the Osaka Maritime Museum. The special glass dome with a 70 meter diameter has a special glass and steel design that allowed it to control temperature and sunlight throughout the day, and has a cathedral like space where old sailing ships were exhibited. While it is now closed and under administration, I hope that the public can see its historical and current exhibits again one day. Have a look at these photos to see the special exhibits that were at this museum.
